SIX MONTH COURSE ON WRITING FOR TV FICTION BEGINS IN FTII.
 
A 6-month course WRITING FOR TELEVISION FICTION began today at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune. 
 
This is the third edition of the Course which first began in 2017, and is geared towards producing trained TV screen writers. FTII is the only institute in the country offering this Course. 
 
13 participants (6 women,7 men) from 5 states are attending the Course. They are from Maharashtra (Pune & Thane), Rajasthan (Jaipur), Andhra Pradesh (Vijaywada & Vishakhapatnam), Karnataka  (Bengaluru) and New Delhi. 
 
The Course was inaugurated today in the campus in the presence of Bhupendra Kainthola, Director, FTII Pune, R N Pathak,Dean (TV), Vinod Ranganath, Course Director and Gaurav Asri,Course Coordinator.
 
After course completion, the students will be well trained in the fundamentals of TV writing, putting them on par with working professionals in the TV industry. Students will have a professional approach while dealing with producers, directors and broadcasters.
 
Course Director Vinod Ranganath is a renowned screen writer and teacher. He has  written close to 4000 episodes on television in the last 20 years; some of the major ones are SWABHIMAAN, SUKANYA, KARTAVYA,JASSI JAISI KOI NAHI, KESARIYA BAALAM AAVO HAMAARE DESH, DREAM GIRLS, SEA HAWKS, TIGER.
 
He is currently writing  MEREY ANGANE MEIN & DEHLEEZ on Star Plus.
 
He has written screenplays of Hindi  films DO RAAHEIN (Dir: Lekh Tandon) and MAST (Dir : Ram Gopal Varma).
 
He has also been teaching Television Fiction writing at FTII and has trained more than 100 students in TV script writing in the last 10 years.
