WINTER FILM APPRECIATION COURSE EXPLORING  CINEMA THROUGH THE 'LENS OF LIFE' ENDS IN PUNE ; 14-DAY COURSE HAD 49 PARTICIPANTS FROM 15 STATES.
 
The annual Winter Film Appreciation course by
Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune, thematically titled FILM APPRECIATION THROUGH THE LENS OF LIFE has come to an end.The 14-day residential Course, into its second edition now, was conducted in association with National Film Archive of India (NFAI).
 
49 participants  received certificates at the hands of Amit Tyagi,Dean (Films) FTII in the presence of Arunaraje Patil,Course Director. 
 
40 men and 9 women from 15 states attended  the Course. They are from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Telangana, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh,Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Bihar, Chattisgarh and Manipur. One participant is from Singapore.
 
This Course, both in its content as well as approach was distinct from the summer Film Appreciation course. Getting under the skin of cinema while unravelling its linkages with life is a new journey in the history of film appreciation, something that has never been attempted before. 
 
Course Director Arunaraje Patil (FTII,Film Editing,1969) is a film maker, screen writer, producer and film editor with 5 National Awards. 
 
Renowned film maker and FTII alumnus Sriram Raghavan (Director : EK HASINA THEE, JOHNNY GADDAR, BADLAPUR, ANDHADHUN), had inaugurated the Course in Pune on 7th December 2019.
