FTII'S ONLINE FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME IN ANIMATION FILM MAKING FOR AICTE BEGINS.

A five-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on
BASIC ANIMATION FILM MAKING began today. The programme is being conducted by FTII for ATAL (AICTE Training and Learning Academy).

This is the first such FDP programme by FTII after the Institute's one-year PG Certificate courses were approved by AICTE in 2019.

The programme was inaugurated today by Sh R N Pathak, Dean (TV) in the presence of Prof Sandeep Shahare, Course Coordinator. The programme is being attended by nearly 75 participants most of whom are
faculty members of AICTE-approved Institutions, Research
Scholars, PG Scholars, participants from Government, Industry and some FTII Faculty and staff.

Course Director Mandar Digrajkar, Asso. Prof., Graphics & Animation, FTII giving details of the FDP says,"
Animation is widely being used not only for big budget projects but also by independent film makers for small budget films and
even by educationist for preparing educational content. Also, as some stories,topics can only be told more effectively through animation, this course is
designed to introduce participants to the basic techniques of animation film-making, through theory as well as hands on experience for making animation content".

"This introductory course will be helpful for any enthusiast to explore new mediums and develop creative aspect. The goal is to develop original idea or story and to make experimental short animation film incorporating art works, drawings, modeling, basic camera work, editing and basic animation techniques as an individual. The resource persons are a mix of FTII faculty and industry professionals." says Prof Sandeep Shahare, Coordinator for this Course.

The Faculty Development Programme will end on 16th October with a session on stress management and meditation.
