FTII Announces Summer Film Appreciation Course ; 4 week programme to begin on 6th may.

The much-awaited annual Summer Film Appreciation (FA) Course has been announced.

Jointly conducted by Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune and National Film Archive of India (NFAI), the Course will be held from 6th May to 1st June 2019. Amit Tyagi, Prof. Screen Studies and Research and Ex-Dean (FTII) will be the Course Director.

Says Amit Tyagi, "The idea in the Course is no longer to view a few films and learn film history ; rather the idea this year is to re-ignite your interest in all aspects of cinema, from its technical aspects to the minutes of aesthetic nuances. Like last year new grounds will be explored where leading technical practitioners will talk about the frontiers of their work, new aspects of film history like pioneering women filmmakers will be discussed as will be the concept of realism in Prabhat's cinema- which comes ten years before the European Neo Realism."

The last date for applying is 29th March 2019. Details are available on ftii.ac.in / www.ftiindia.com
